Knowledge and experience matter. For more than 13 years, I have helped people find a new way forward after divorce.
My qualifications. I went to undergrad at Drake University. I went to law school at The University of Iowa College of Law (one of the nation’s top 20 law schools). I have served as a court-appointed guardian ad litem for children at risk for abuse or neglect. I have taught family law to paralegals, and I am a past member of the Warren E. Burger Inn of Court.
I am currently a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association Family Law Section and Minnesota's local AFCC chapter (an academically oriented family law group).
In 2008, I argued (and won) the case of Beardsley v. Garcia before the Minnesota Supreme Court. In 2010, I was featured on the front page of Minnesota Lawyer and articles were written about me in the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Wisconsin Law Journal, and elsewhere.
The awards I'm proud to have received. Every professional I meet seems to be a member of the "World's 20 Greatest" club? Who knew there could be so many.
Honestly, I don't much care if other lawyers like me. I care if my clients do.
I'm most proud of my client satisfaction awards. I have received Client Distinction / Client Rating awards from Matindale-Hubbell in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Don't tell anyone, but I'm a member of The National Advocates 2016 Top 100 Lawyers in family law and I was named one of the "10 Best Family Law Attorneys" for client satisfaction in Minnesota by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys in 2016 and 2017.
